Then came the King’s second official birthday parade on June 15 — an important royal celebration. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were noticeably absent. The last time they attended the event was in 2022, though even then they didn’t appear on the balcony or take part in the formal procession.

While they weren’t present this year, the couple reportedly reached out to Princess Kate, who recently re-emerged in public following her cancer treatment.

“They’ve jointly reached out to send well wishes, but they’re still not really in a place with Kate to warrant much of a response,” a source told Closer magazine. Still, the source added, this “hasn’t stopped them from trying to connect.”

The third blow to Harry came in the form of his absence from the wedding of the Duke of Westminster — described as the society event of the year. Though Harry and Meghan were apparently invited, they declined.

Royal reporter Emily Andrews claimed the couple chose not to attend because the situation would have been “too awkward,” particularly given Harry’s ongoing tension with Prince William, who was also among the guests.

This growing sense of distance from his former life has reportedly taken a toll. A source told Radar Online that Harry feels increasingly cut off from British high society.
