Meghan Markle and Prince Harry ‘desperate’ to heal royal rift amid new threat

Part 2 of 2

Earlier this year, former US president Donald Trump hinted that he could deport Prince Harry should he return to the White House after the election in November. The issue stems around whether or not Harry lied about taking drugs on his American visa application, with the Republican nominee stating that the Duke would not receive any special treatment because of his royal background.

Harry’s visa status has come under intense scrutiny. Last year, American conservative think tank, the Heritage Foundation, sued the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for access to his immigration records. They want to know whether Harry declared whether he has ever used recreational drugs on the form – following his admissions in his memoir, Spare, where he detailed extensive use of cocaine, marijuana and magic mushrooms.

Trump spoke on the issue during an interview with Nigel Farage on GB News. Asked if there would be any “special privileges” for Harry, he responded: “No. We’ll have to see if they know something about the drugs, and if he lied they’ll have to take appropriate action.” In the interview Trump also hit out at Harry and Meghan’s treatment of the late Queen. “I think they hurt her really bad,” he said: ” I think there was great disrespect to a person I got to know very well and like; the Queen. She was unbelievable, you know.

“I thought she was treated very disrespectfully by them. Although she wouldn’t show it because she was strong and smart, but I would imagine they broke her heart. The things that they were saying was so bad and so horrible and she was in her 90s and hearing this stuff. I think they broke her heart. I think they hurt her really bad.”
