Meghan Markle’s recent social media post has stirred debate, as she shared a personal video from the day her daughter was born—an act one royal expert believes would have left King Charles “horrified.”
Dancing in the Delivery Room
Earlier this week, Meghan, 43, surprised royal followers by uploading a video of herself twerking alongside Prince Harry in a hospital room back in June 2021, just before the birth of their daughter, Princess Lilibet. The footage shows the couple dancing together in an effort to encourage labor.
Lilibet, their second child, turned four on June 4. To celebrate, the Duchess of Sussex—who returned to Instagram earlier this year—shared several posts honoring the milestone. Along with a heartfelt birthday message and a tribute to Harry’s bond with their daughter, Meghan posted the intimate hospital video, which quickly went viral.

Meghan’s Caption and Message
Alongside the footage, Meghan wrote:
“Four years ago today, this also happened. Both of our children were a week past their due dates… so when spicy food, all that walking, and acupuncture didn’t work – there was only one thing left to do!”
She ended the caption with a laughing-crying emoji.
A Royal Expert’s Reaction
Jennie Bond, a royal commentator, described the video as “astonishing on any level” and questioned how the King might have reacted.
Speaking to The Mirror, Bond said:
“The hours before you give birth are some of the most personal, intimate, and private in the lives of any couple. And women are perfectly entitled to do whatever they feel like to get through the waiting, and the pain. Giving birth is a serious business, and anything to lighten the mood is welcome.”
However, she also expressed concern over the public nature of the post:
“To share those scenes with the world is utterly bizarre and, in my view, takes away all the magic of the moment. I cannot imagine why she chose to release it. Maybe show it one day to your nearest and dearest — but to anyone and everyone who wants to click on it?”
Would King Charles Approve?
Bond added:
“If the King has watched it, which I doubt, though he can’t have missed the headlines, I’m sure he would be horrified. Royalty has to carry with it some measure of dignity.”
